Project Details

This was a 4-month contract.

After launching a successful Kickstarter, the team was looking for a developer. I noticed their Kansas roots and decided to pursue the opportunity!

The project involved my first foray into interfacing with hardware from a mobile phone. My N3RD turned any device into a smart device. No internet or router required. I had a lot of fun implementing their custom communication protocol. I found far deeper appreciation for HomeKit (which released later that year).

Beyond development, I was able to spend time helping them work on a refreshed design to improve the user experience.

I had a blast helping the team bring the first iteration to market!
